PIMS Projects

The Perry Institute for Marine Science laboratory is one of the largest and most productive in the Caribbean region, and our field station is highly-regarded by the most esteemed research institutions in the U.S. and abroad. Our resident scientists focus their research on four areas - fisheries, ecosystems, coral reefs, and marine biodiversity.

The information we gather provides government leaders, decision makers, conservation groups and others with the information they need to understand how the oceans work, why they're vital to our existence and, ultimately, how they can be repaired and protected. Our research, conducted in the Caribbean, provides relevant and beneficial information to nearly every marine ecosystem in America - and the world.
