Education Advisory Committee workshop on Lee Stocking Island, April 2004

This committee is working to provide some basic curriculum development to assist groups interested in field trips to Lee Stocking Island. A new educational initiative was started with the goal that PIMS would provide a higher "level of service" to attract a greater number of educational groups and to present a more intense and rewarding learning experience for those groups. In March 2004, the Committee participated in a 4-day workshop to produce a general curriculum for use at Lee Stocking Island by visiting educational groups. This curriculum will aid teachers and educators in planning the logistics of their trips and provide an effective platform for teaching that will take advantage of all the unique environments at Lee Stocking Island. This curriculum will be used to create an "all-inclusive" package for groups and as a basis for future curriculum development and programs at Lee Stocking Island.
